Elinor Jean (Cox) Haynes, 83, of Washington CH passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Elinor was born November 7, 1938, in Highland County. She will be remembered for her compassion and caring way. Her philosophy was open heart, open home, and open arms.
Elinor was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Cox and Bertha (Hopkins) Cooper, her husband, Robert G. Haynes, and two children, Karen Sue and Keith Haynes.
Surviving are her children, Connie (Steve) Moore, and Robert (Lisa) Haynes; grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy and Sam Moore, Brian and Adam Haynes, Brittany Ackley, Amanda Swigert and Kerissa Haynes Preston; great grandchildren, Tori Moore, Taaylor Cook and Chazney Holmes; great great grandchildren, Jamahl Kuebler, Ava, Harper and Xander Holmes, Carter and Ali Swigert, Brantley, Grayson, Pipher, Ryker, Aiden, and Clayton Haynes, and Keionnie and Ryan Ackley; sisters, Shirley Lovett, Diana (Mike) Hester; brother, Cody (Lisa) Cooper; as well as, many nieces nephews and her many friends.
A funeral will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11am until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Meals on Wheels or Fayette County Commission on Aging. Donations for both may be directed to 1179 S. Elm Street, Washington C.H., OH 43160.
