Evelyn June (Althouse) Dawson

   Evelyn June Dawson, 84, of Washington Court House passed away May 11, 2023, at Court House Manor with her family at her side.

    Evelyn was born June 6, 1938, in Ross County to the late Sherman and Chloe (Cochran) Althouse. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, wood crafting, bluegrass music, and was a huge Conway Twitty fan. She also Owned and operated Mike and Evelyn’s Dairy Bar in New Holland for about 10 years.

     Along with her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Althouse, Ronald Althouse, and sister, Charlena Mae Majestic, and a granddaughter, Kinsley Sue Brown.

    Surviving are her children, sons, Robert (Heidi) Brown, Kevin (Michelle) Brown, Kathryn (Danny) Boisel, Karla (Curt) Long, Keith (Kelli) Brown, and Cynthia Tackett; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Lora Helfrich; brothers, Gary (Mary) Althouse, Steve (Janet) Althouse, Jerry (Linda) Althouse; as well as several nieces, nephews, and her many friends.

    A funeral service is planned for 12pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Chaplain Dee Davis of Promedica Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday May 17th from 5pm – 7pm.
