Sgt. 1st Class George Roger Cox, 82, of Washington CH passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 with family at his side following a brief illness.
He was born on July 12, 1936 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late George and Marjene (Morrison) Cox. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving his country for over 20 years. He was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beverly Jean Cox, and a daughter, Jeanette Cox.
Surviving are his children, Vicki (Tim) Glaze of Florida, George (Debbie) Cox of WCH, Tracy (Laura) Cox of WCH, Stacey Cox of Dayton, Jamie “Punky” Staffan, and Roy Cox; grandchildren, Danielle Lamb, Roger Cox, Vanessa Cox, Kelly Cox, Tracy (Joe) Bettle, Stephenie Cox, David McDaniel, Richard Cox, Beverly DeLuca, Reese (Ellie) Staffan, Elizabeth Staffan, David Phillips and James Cox; sisters, Laura (Bob) Deering and Yvonne Cox. As well as, 12 great-grandchildren, extended family, and the many friends he made along the way.
A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington CH with Pastor Mike Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am until the time of service.
