Gerald Evans, 61, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital, where he had been a patient since November 23, 2021, after a long, hard-fought battle beginning with Covid.
Gerald was born on March 5, 1960 to Geraldine (Jeri) L. (Harris) Evans and Roger L. Evans. He was a 1978 graduate of Miami Trace High School, worked in armed security and was a truck driver. His favorite position was driving cross-country in an 18-wheeler, but he also drove dump trucks. Since 2016, Gerald was a favorite driver with 3-C Cab Company, until the time of his sickness.
Mr. Evans loved his family dearly, loved sports, played basketball & softball, coached children in both (which he loved very much), and loved cars and music. In all facets of life, he never knew a stranger.
Gerald was preceded in death by his Mother, Geraldine, a son, Tracey Allen Evans, and his grandparents, Marybelle and Elmer Harris of Bloomingburg, and Mary Ragland of Springfield, and a dear uncle, Virgil Bennett.
Remaining to treasure his memory are his father, Roger (Sharon) Evans; his wife, Caren Mowery-Evans, whom he married July 1, 2000; children, Onesti and Brandy Evans, and Christina Frisby; grandchildren, Justyce and Keyanne Simmons, Hailey Virgin, Breanna Bowman, and Toni West; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Rhonda (Rodney) Jackson, his aunt, Vivian (Gerald) Thomas; uncles, Gene (Brenda) Harris and Curtis (Kathy) Harris, special long, long-time friends/family Dean (Nancy) Robinson, Dean (Barbara) Faris, Kenny (Melissa) Upthegrove, and a host of cousins and many dear, sweet friends.
A funeral service is planned for 6pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House, Ohio, with Bishop Ronald Logan and his father, Pastor Overseer Roger Evans, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4pm until the start of the service.
