Helen Marlene (Hobbs) Thomas, 90, of Washington Court House passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023.
Helen was born September 6, 1933, in Nebraska to the late Hector and Lillian (McCann) Hobbs. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafts, and would make handmade gifts for her loved ones. She also enjoyed cooking, watching westerns, and playing euchre. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and was especially fond of Pete Rose and the pitching style of Bronson Arroyo. While she didn’t attend church regularly, Helen’s faith and trust in God was strong. She was a believer in prayer and would pray for many. Above all, Helen was a loving mother and grandmother. Her sense of humor and visits to family will be missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence “Toad” Thomas, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Surviving to carry on her legacy are her children, Terri Pryor of Hamilton, Cindy (Chris) Howland of Greenfield, and Larry Thomas, David Thomas, and Amy Thomas, all of Washington Court House; grandchildren, Dale Howland, Shannon Hall, Tonya Pryor, Frank Howland, Robbie Richards, Alicia West, Justin Thomas, Keith Rowe, Courtney Wilson, Matt Howland, Cassidy Paul, Ethan Paul, and Evynn Paul; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Barbara Tullius; and her many friends.
A service is planned for 1pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11am until the start of service. In honoring Helen’s wishes, cremation will follow with burial in Highlawn cemetery at the convenience of the family.
