Janet Rae (Knisley) Downs

Janet Rae (Knisley) Downs, 75, Of Washington CH passed away on November 6, 2022, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe following a brief illness.

Janet was born October 6, 1947, in Fayette Couty, Ohio to the late Donald and Inez (McDaniel) Knisley. She was a 1967 graduate of Miami Trace High School. Janet had operated a home cleaning business in the area cleaning private homes and businesses. The love she showed her family was endless. She loved spending time with them any chance she had. Janet enjoyed camping, working in her flower beds and canning. In her down time, she liked playing cards, word searches, and sudoku puzzles.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Wyatt Matthew Downs, a sister, Florence Lyons, a brother, and her best friend, Sharon Noble.

Surviving to cherish her memory, are her husband, Roger Downs, whom she married June 19, 1968; children, Kim Jeffries (Larry Moore) of South Salem and Donald Downs of WCH; grandchildren, Nina Jeffries (Adam Huysman), Allishaa Jeffries (Alex Osborn), Kayla Forman, Tyler Warford, and Katie (Warford) Roberts; great grandchildren, Tucker Tilley, Hunter Rae Huysman, Reagan Huysman, Warren Jeffries, and Moxlie Osborn; sisters, Phyllis Penwell, Donna (Ed) Reeves; sisters-in-law, Wilda Lynn (Ed) Ritter, and Becky (Randy) Baughn; and, brother-in-law, Gerald (Hilda) Downs. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends.

The family will receive friends at Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 4 to 6pm. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow. Burial of the urn will take place in the Good Hope Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
