John L Zwiesler

John Lawrence Zwiesler entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the age of 77.

John was born on August 20, 1943 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Joseph and Wilma (Lambert) Zwiesler. After high school, John entered the military to serve his country during the Vietnam War. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Following his service, he worked for 17 years as a supervisor at Dayton Tire and Rubber until the plant relocated, after which he finished out his career with 14 years at Thatchers Manufacturing as the Assistant Plant Manager. He liked spending time bowling or relaxing at the water’s edge with a fishing pole in his hand.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, JoAnn Gates, Lois Gates, and Brenda Kropac.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Lou Price, with whom he shared over 57 years of marriage; his children, Tim (Melissa) Zwiesler, William (Krista) Zwiesler, Duane (Traci) Zwiesler, Chris (Karen) Zwiesler, and Tammy (Joe) Mathews; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Samantha and John Zwiesler, Tiffany (Aaron) Elliott, and Austin, Kandice and Benjamin Mathews; and step grandchildren, Cody and Courtney Leisure. He also leaves behind his many extended family and friends including special friends, Chuck Allen, Ron Amore, Sr., Ron Amore, Jr. and his loyal canine companion Scooter.

A graveside service with military honors is planned 1pm on Thursday, December 17^th at the Washington Cemetery with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Heart Assn.
