John "Bill" William Seitz

John William “Bill” Seitz, 81, of Bloomingburg passed away peacefully on September 30, 2023.

Bill was born July 7, 1942, in Cardington, Ohio to the late Leroy and Gladys (McCoy) Seitz. Bill attended Unity Fellowship Church. He was a very giving and generous person. More than once he opened his house to the homeless in an attempt to get them back on their feet. He was also a good cook and was known for making big meals which he would share with friends and neighbors. Bill enjoyed hunting and had even made trips to Canada to hunt bear.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sons, David and Tony Seitz and by siblings, Jerry, Larry, Bety Mae, Jim, Kate, and Janet.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Conley) Seitz, whom he married June 6, 1999; children, Tina (Dale) Lower, Billie Jo Seitz (Jerry Knapp), and Jessica (Craig) Cokonougher; grandchildren, David (Melissa) Seitz, Kenny Lower (Kimmy Glispie), Sarah (Storm) Ratliff, Josh (Bridget) Seitz, Heather (Ashton) Motts, and Kylee Seitz (Brendan Parrish), Brian Lower, Misty Lower, and Hunter Cokonougher; and several great grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Walter, Stanley, Betty Lee, and Linda, as well as his many friends.

A funeral is planned for 1pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Pastor Keith Clary officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomingburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 11am until the start of service. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St Jude Children’s Hospital, or Shriners Children’s Hospitals.
