Marie (Massie) Wisecup, known affectionately to many as “Granny Cup”, 94, of Washington CH passed away peacefully with her family at her side on July 4, 2022.
Marie was born May 9, 1928, in Ross County to the late James Oliver and Mildred (Oty) Massie. She was a proud mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family. She loved camping and would plan weekend adventure with the family as often as she could. Marie also enjoyed a good game of poker. She was known for her culinary talents including homemade chicken and noodles, Texas sheet cake, and her lemon meringue pie.
Along with her parents, Marie was preceded in death by children, Willard “Buck” and Wayne Wisecup; sisters, Norma Jean Insko and Betty Fair; brothers, Harry, Joe and Bobby Massie; great great granddaughter, Paisley Ross; and son-in-law, Doug Maynard.
Surviving are her children, Millie (Jack) Pollard, Jack (Mary Lou) Wisecup, Susan Maynard and Kim (Randy) Sever; daughter-in-law, Pat Wisecup; grandchildren, Mark (Tami), Troy (Wanda), and Jack G. (Teresa) Wisecup, Chris and Jack Lee (Manuela) Pollard, Daniel Jr. and Josh (April) Breakfield, Misty (Jimmy) Oyer, Colt (Natalie), Dakota (Courtney), and Hunter (Abigail) Sever, and Tina (Troy) Wingfield; 40 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A memorial service is planned for 12pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington CH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11am until the start of service. Burial of the urn will follow in Highlawn Cemetery.
