Maybelle Jones, age 94, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away on January 16, 2024, at Court House Manor. She was born on August 19, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Lawrence and Elsie (Beatty) Jones. She is preceded in death by her sister, Eva Louise (Jones) Slater, and survived by her twin sister, Clarabelle (Jones) Yelletts, and special niece, Jacqueline L. Slater.
A graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1947, she retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, after 37 years of service. She was a member of the Fayette County Commission on Aging, where she loved to play chair volleyball, and was also a member of the Fayette County Genealogy Society. She was a lover of antiques and collectibles and set up at various shows in Ohio for over 40 years. Maybelle was an active member of the Second Baptist Church for over 75 years.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 27, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 509 Washington Ave. Visitation begins at 10:30a, and family will receive from 11a to 12p. Service will immediately follow. The repast to follow internment at Fayette County Commission on Aging, 1179 S. Elm St.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at the Second Baptist Church, 828 Columbus Ave., Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
The family of Maybelle extends their appreciation to Heartland Hospice and the staff of Court House Manor for their care and support.
Arrangements are being handled by the Roberts Funeral Home with burial in the Washington Cemetery.
