Paul Anthony Simmons, 49, of Washington CH passed unexpectedly on February 26, 2022.
Paul was born June 3, 1972, in Washington CH, Ohio to Paul E. and Gloria (Johns) Simmons. He was a 1990 graduate of the Washington Senior High School and the Laurel Oaks Vocational School, where he received his certificate for Electrical Trade. Following High School, Paul joined the United States Navy, and served his country during Desert Storm. He was an avid Michigan Wolverines and Green Bay Packers fan. He was a self-proclaimed chef/grill master and enjoyed a quiet day fishing when he had the chance. Paul was a loving family man, who especially enjoyed time with his grandbabies.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, including his grandmother, Gladys Alexander, with whom he shared a special bond, and a brother, Paul E. Simmons, Jr.
Along with his parents, Paul is survived by his wife, the former Amy Woods, whom he married March 2, 2002; sons, Scylar Johnson (Shyann Colter) and Eric Johnson (Alexis Thornton); grandchildren, Sophie Mae and Sterling Cole “Bubba” Thornton, and Serenity Sia Johnson,; brother, Jay (Oksana Hoover) Simmons; niece, Keanna Nikolle Simmons; nephew, Seth Allen “Fats” Simmons, Father and Mother-In-Law, Eric(Wanda) Rueppel; Father-In-Law, Douglas Woods, Sisters-In-Law, Angel Palmer, Annette (Don) Perkins, and Melodie Woods. He also leaves behind his many extended family members including close family members, Howard “Hawk” Johns, Jr. and Greg “Gramps” Ellars, and a host of friends, including special friend Rahmel McClendon.
A funeral is planned for 11am on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Esto Haithcock, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3rd from 4 to 7pm.
