Roger Lee Cooper, 62 of Crossville, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus following a brief illness.
Roger was born August 20, 1959, in Washington Court House, Ohio to Norman and Carolyn (Manns) Cooper. After high school, Roger began a 24-year career in the infantry of the United States Army. He retired from service with a rank of SFC in 2004. Following his military retirement, Roger worked for another 13 years in the maintenance department of Stonepeak Ceramics. Roger enjoyed attending dirt track races, watching sports, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Along with his father, Roger was preceded in death by his son, SFC Bobby Lee Estle, mother-in-law, Joyce Selvidge and a furry companion, Gremlin.
Survivors include his mother; his wife, Pamela (Selvidge) Cooper, whom he married August 16, 1990; daughter, Deanna Cooper; grandchildren, PFC Brayden Cooper-Smith, Broghan Cooper, and Marieanna Estle; 3 great grandsons; sister, Sherri Rhoads; brothers, David Cooper, Mike (April) Cooper, and Jeff (LeighAnne) Cooper; father-in-law, Jimmy Selvidge; sisters-in-law, Sharon Angland and Teresa Kinzalow; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9th, 2022, from 4 to 7pm at the Roberts Funeral Home in Washington Court House. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, May 10th at the Heritage Memorial Church with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Highlawn Cemetery.
